My latest Hobby

I have started painting.  I have never been to art class, or had any lessons.  In fact I never did art at school.  But last year someone gave my husband some paints and canvas as he is a little "Arty" 

He has never used them, so in November (2009)  I decided I would give it a go.  I will go to night school next year to learn properly  but I do find it very relaxing.  any tips from real artist  would be appreciated :)  I know the backgrounds are not the best, I have just been trying different things.

The painting on left is of Ch Tasdale Sam I am - first attempt at Airbrushed background. Beside that is my latest one of my friends Bull Terrier "Missy"  taken from a photo she had as  a memorial to her. The Border was my first attempt and is based on one of my sisters  Borders from a number of years ago.  the corgi is my older sisters dog Pengavin Private Ryan, the Boxer is our 'Joe' - Ch Boxton Groovy Baby - with his indignant look he can give,  the other Australian Terrier is 'Baxter' - NZ & Aust Ch Tasdale Last Gift.       And I made up one of a Bull Terrier knocking over wine glasses. - I auctioned this with the proceeds going to the Canterbury Bull Terrier Club.
